Tailgate badge chrome repair

Just found a 'Camping' badge in a drawer but it really could do with a spruce up.

Is there a way to replenish the chrome effect other than brush painting or masking it off and spraying?

plastic chrome bling is so now, black trim 80s german style is much more elegant imho
