Heatproof sealant around Propex in/out floor pipes?

Hi, Just fitted a Propex to my Syncro, which occasionally goes wading-

Me at Tarr Steps, Devon Aug 2010.

I'd quite like to not get water in through the hoses and pipes. I can bung up the hoses when I wade with corks or tape or something, but not sure what to do with the oversize holes in the floor. The in/out pipes are 22mm and I followed the instructions and cut the holes to 40mm. I guess they're oversize to prevent heat damage to the chassis. Any idea what would be a suitable heatproof sealant to gunk round the pipes? I've used heatproof cement around a fireplace before, but that is quite brittle and would quickly fall out. I've checked my bucket of household sealant tubes and none of them are suitable.

Any suggestions?

I used high temp engine gasket sealant round mine but don't think I cut the holes so big but not sure. Also mounted my propex underneath my double seat at the front which places it above the wheel arches to avoid flooding when wading and seems to be a good spot for it in a syncro

Tidy Paul. I've not started working on engines yet so not up to speed on the tech for them. I'll pop out and get some of this magic gunk.
