Pretty sure that the LED's have arrived as a card got delivered today saying that i had a customs charge to pay.
So ive begrudgingly paid the charge and they should arrive in the next couple of days. :ok

Hopefully i'll have some new pics up over the weekend showing how the new LEDs and needle paints perform!

I installed a pair of the new LEDs over the weekend and I'm pleased to say that they are much much better. They give a nice even spread of light across the entire gauge face.

Unfortunately one of the paints wasn't satisfactory, so I've ordered a different type which should arrive this week.
As soon as I've received that I'll take some high quality pics and get them up online.

Hi,

Its all been on hold for a bit due to loads of other nonsense needing to be sorted out. Its all still in the pipeline though.....

Would've put up some decent pics of the needles doing their thing by now except for a camera battery charger going missing (my phone really doesnt do the gauges justice once its dark outside)

I'll try and get some pics up soon...... please bear with me.....

Cheers for the update - things always have a habit of cropping up and getting in the way of the things you actually want to be doing!

Look forward to seeing some pics!

Ok, sorry about the wait, ive found the charger finally. Here's some pics and info of the set up as it is right now.

At the moment the set up is:
Speedo has a Wide beam UV LED, bulb housing lined with silver aluminium tape, Electro luminescent gauge face, needle painted with UV reactive white paint

Rev counter has Wide beam UV LED, standard housing, Electro luminescent gauge face, coolant temp & fuel gauge are standard except for the needles painted with the UV reactive white paint.

The speedo gives the brightest results due to the housing being lined with the reflective tape (it makes a huge difference!). I left the rev counter with the standard housing so you could see the difference between the two.

The gauge faces give off quite a bit of light at the moment as you can see but this is due to the gauges being white, once they are black there wont be anywhere near as much 'glow' given off by the whole gauge face. It will be only the needle and the letters that are visible. ( i tried this out with a black sample they sent me and the black ones don't glow under UV like the white ones)

Let me know if anyone would like to see the red UV paint on the needles and i'll pull it to bits again and do another run of pics.

Here's the pics:

Oh, by the way, the center bulb in the dash is a bright white LED bulb, just in case you were wondering why there's no 'orange' glow from the warning lights in the middle

They are looking superb! Are the plasma gauge's not available for the temp and fuel gauge, or have you just left them off?

If it's not too much hassle, it would be good to see the red needles.

looking good Al, if and when you have time it would be good too see the red needles, i think that it will break it up a little, also are the led(s) dimmable via the the little thingy under the light switch or are they just all or nothing.

I left the Fuel gauge and Coolant gauges out as a bit of a comparison, but they would be part of the kit.

The LED's are dimmable by using the dimmer wheel thingy. Works quite well actually as you can adjust the brightness of both the gauge faces and the needle to suit your preference.

Yeah that's the idea Km ones are already available from the German chaps direct if anyone wanted to go that route.

I'm going to get a run of MPH ones made, for us UK types.

Hi, sorry for the lack of updates on this. Work and life isn't giving me much time to get on with it all.

Just wanted to let people know the project hasn't fallen off the edge of the earth.....
