After successfully negotiating 1200 miles in the last week in the Western Isles of Scotland and starting first time throughout, trusty Speedy has decided he's not going to start when all I wanted to do was move him on our driveway.
Turn ignition key - nothing. Battery seems OK (headlights and other lights work fine) but the dashboard red battery light doesn't come on. Starter won't turn but makes a single click when key is turned. Tried jump leads from other vehicle which has made no difference. Battery light does come on when connected by jump leads but still no joy from starter.
I'm a complete mechanical novice so would appreciate any pointers as I'm not covered for home breakdown.
Thanks!

Thanks - I'll have a look tomorrow. Think I may have already checked that. Is it the boxy looking thing on the left hand side near the coil?

sticky solenoid perhaps try tapping it with handle of hammer once you've checked the connections at the starter
