Hotel & parking - Central london.

Hi all,

We've got a family christening soon in Islington, London, and we were thinking of combining this occasion with a few days camping on the South Coast.

The christening is early morning, so we will have to stay the night, and I don't fancy leaving the bus parked up in Central London on a Saturday night packed with the kids toys/bikes, etc.

Can anyone recommend a hotel in London which has secure parking which can accomodate my hi-top ?

Any advice would be greatly received, (apart from camping in the van as we have two small kids to keep amused...)

I can't think of anywhere in central with a carpark to accommodate but maybe try somewhere on the western outskirts near heathrow for example and then scoot across London early on Saturday morning. The only floor in this plan is if you were wanting to booze on the Saturday and not drive. Also with islington, Saturday is going to cost to park!

A good rule to stick to is that NO parking in London is secure!

Try the N1 Centre, its right in the middle of Islington.

I was just checking on the Travel Lodge website - we've used the City Rd hotel a few times but we took the train each time. Have a quick check on their site at some of the central London hotel, they give details for parking and whether you have to pay. It might be easier to find a hotel a few miles away and use Public Transport inside London.

Also you could have to pay Congestion Zone Charges.

I've bottled it and decided to stay in a Premier Lodge on the outskirts for the night and drive in on the morning. £70 and free parking clinched it for me, cheapest family room I could find in Central London was £210 and £25 car parking...
