Playing my ipod via cd player, help?

Post by nickynurse »

Im wondering if anyone can answer my question for me. ive recently bought and installed, successfully, a new radio/cd player and a new set of speakers in our T25. It all plays fine and has a superb sound. The player also has a jack point for playiing auxiliary things through it, eg, my ipod.

Now, Im am not in the least technically minded, playiing the ipod last night, it plays fine but it only comes out of one speaker and then you cannot hear a lot of the finer instruments/backing vocals etc. I tested the cd player to make sure one of the speakers had not become disconnected, cd's played fine as did the radio. Both speakers were active. So why does the ipod music only come out of one speaker and is there something extra we should have wired up for this purpose. The manual doesnt mention anything really. Does anyone know how to get round this because its spoiling our musical entertaiment. :(

Many thanks, Nicky

Hi i guess your using a aux wire with two ends the same (like ear phone ends) might sound silly but it is pushed all way in if you push head phones in slowly one works then the other when fully in . You dont need to do any thing extra to the stereo. Maybe try a new aux lead if not could be some thing wrong with stereo

Also check that the lead you are using is a stereo jack lead. Sounds like you are using a mono which is why you're only getting one channel.

Cheers 72 bug, never thought of that :? Andy, tried what you suggested, made sure both ends were properly inserted, no joy Im afraid. Maybe, as 72 Bug says, I only have a mono jack lead. OO er

Hey there, I had exactly the same problem when I put a new system in 2 weeks ago. I found out my stereo (sony) has an AUX volume setting. I had to turn the AUX volume up high to get any sound through. I also have to have the ipod volume quite high. Hope this helps.

You could adjust the volume to that of a jumbo taking off but without a stereo jack lead sound will only come out of one speaker
