Rob.
Hello Rob, it was part of the Trakka spec and fitted from new. The air con was one of the selling points for me. It works brilliantly and has both temperature and speed controls mounted by the steering wheel.

I had a good look round when Fran owned it and I went to view the 2.6 - I'd have had the Trakka anyday but It was well out of budget. OK the storage isn't exactly built to Westy levels of refinement (it is Australian after all) but the spec is astonishing. If the cabinets were carefully re-made with better materials and detailing it would be the Daddy. No question.

Yep I think the designer was maybe pissed when he came to the cabinets, but they are made of wood. It's like they took wood and tried to make it look like MDF. My favorite feature is the adjustable lumbar support. Ingenious. Okay she is staying for now. Think I was just selling through boredom

PS You never ever get used to the cabinets of the Trakka after a Westfalia. They just don't seem logical.

You errrrrrrrr, ever used a Westy Syncro like?

Sell your van for what it is.... I personally wouldn't start the old "grill" shnizel, even if its a sales pitch. I have seen your van before you bought it parked near mine (westy syncro) and I can quite honestly say there isnt a piano hinge through the table or any other B&Q part in a westy. Good luck with the sale...

Nope not had a Syncro Westfalia but I've had 3 different standard ones. I miss the Westy cabinets but this van can be more comfy than a Westfalia especially to drive and sleep in plus the list of things the Trakka comes with is like a list of things that the Westfalia doesn't have. If I've been the beach on a hot day then I like to cool down in the van not get fried alive. Also the roof bedroom is far better than either of my Westies. The seats are much more comfy etc. I would say that the only thing the Westfalia has that is better are the cabinet designs. The seats in the Trakka are brilliant.

PS I took her off sale. Has been roasting here today and as soon as I used the aircon I knew I had to keep her.

"there isnt a piano hinge through the table or any other B&Q part in a westy" LOL maybe because there isn't much in a Westy at all? Is the interior of a Syncro Westy different to a 2WD one?

if the van is that well specced keep it. if you really cant live with the interior the wrap it up and store it in the loft. buy a west interior of elvis and bung that in.

done best of both worlds.

He'd have a job Lee! Trakka is a proper RHD bodyshell so Westy cupboards just won't fit...

I'll swap it for my 2.6 SA with a slight ignition problem (maybe)
Since you don't like the Trakka interior, I reckon I can put up with it for a while

It looks like there is someone as bad as me at making decisions.
I can never make a decision because whenever I do it always turns out to be the worst one you could have ever made.
Jed will vouch for me, I cant even buy a portion of chips without something going wrong.
