brake stop light? not working

Post by chilipig66 »

can some one help as ive looked over the site but cant see any info ?
i have a problem with my brake lights ,they wont work unless i put two feet on the pedel !!!,
when i use it normally driveing the lights dont come on but if i push to the floor with both feet they come on,,my thinking is there must be some kind off contact when its pushed down to bring the lights on and when you release it goes off but dont no if thats right or where to look apart from the obvious
cheers for any info

the brake light switch is in the master break cylinder go under your steering wheel and look up. http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... gory_id=47" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you can see them on this picture but they dont come with the master cylinder if you were to buy it from there, just so you know what you are looking for. have you checked your brake fluid? has the sytem been bled at all since you owned the van? ? you may have an air lock.

when you change the switch ...if you're quick, you wont have to bleed the brakes :D
