My bus story

Post by yorkierob »

thought I'd share a few pics/details on the work I'm doing to my T3. Hes an 85 1.9dg and recently had a few bits of welding done as was suffering with the usual bad rear arches and front step

he's now nearly ready for a first coat to the bottom of RAL 3020 rustoleum..at last!
be aware the sanding and prepping has took me nearly a month so far but as the bottom was stone chipped it has made the job alot harder
Before I've finished one job I'm planning the next!

as you can see from the last 2 pics the rear nearside arch didn't look to bad from the outside but had rusted from the under-arch outwards so required quite alot of work!
I'll post up some more pics as I get on - hopefully be somewhere near ready for the summer 8)

got 1st coat of paint on half of the bus yesterday - only did half that was in the shade all afternoon and hasn't covered bad for the first coat. I used the orange fine finish rollers from B&Q and found (after all the loose little hairs had come off!) these gave a much better finish than the sponge ones but as Its my first attempt so all I say is try it yourself
