Help - recommendation for tomorrow
Finally get to take my van for an overnighter tomorrow and will be my first camping trip in her.
Can anyone recommend a campsite 60-90 mins fromn Bristol (South Wales, Devon or Dorset maybe). Ideally looking for a site close to a real ale/cider pub. Lots of choice on tinternet etc but would welcome personal recommendations.
Thanks in advance

Park Farm, Llangattock nr Crickhowell - Brecon Beacons.
Canal nearby for walks/cycles. A few pubs selling ale in locality and some do good food too.
map details here Camp site is at the end of Park Drive opposite the Horseshoe pub.

Hi Louey,
I stayed 3 nights at the Lower Lode Inn near Tewksbury a few weeks ago. You basically park on a small field next to the river (Avon I think!?!) all within the pub grounds. Its a lovely 16th Century Inn that does a great choice in ales/ciders and food, and all for a tenner a night including hookup. There are some great walks to be had in the area too.
Also just came back from Haddon's Farm campsite in Three Legged Cross in Dorset - £12 for the night inc leccy but pubs are a good 20 minute walk away.
Hope this helps - enjoy your trip!

Hi have just been looking at the pics of Lower Lode by the river looks great.Only based in Gloucester so a quick weekend away. Thanks for the recommendation. Also have a look at Cotswold Farm park pubs within 2 to 3 miles but nice clean site.
Cost higher than Lower Lode but farm park good for kids. Plenty of good walks.

Hi Kev and Lorraine - thanks for the tip re Cotswold Farm - will give it a try soon. Lower Lode was my first trip out in the van so made it even more special! Have a good time if you try it

What's wrong with a good old stagger beyond the 20 minute mark??
