wesfalia gas tank compression fitting to copper pipe

Post by lloydy »

Hi, is the nut and olive you use to join the copper pipe to the tank fittings some kind of special thread/size?
As i've just used an 8mm nut and olive i had hanging around and it doesn't fit, so before i start buying different brands of compression fittings, is there something in particular i should be getting?

heres a pic of the fitting i mean

many thanks, Lloyd

Not sure about yours but on mine it's a 3/8" Flare fittings

These would plug the copper lines and you can get caps for the tank.

I'm hoping not, i think it is 8mm steel compression. Lets hope yours is US only, as the pipe is 8mm, which in imperial is 1/4"

just seen the pic, definitely looks wrong, fittings look more like this http://www.vwbusshop.de/gsshop/gsbilder/333000051.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
cheers for the pic though :ok
