Adjustment screw on carb, does what?
Hey guys,
Can anyone tell me what I'm adjusting in this photo: http://gallery.me.com/a.birch#100004/Va ... olor=black" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ??
Haynes doesn't seem to cover the same carb that I have.
Cheers,
Andy

Cant help with the carb. But there should be a fuel filter just after the fuel tank.Get rid of that one in your picture

Cheers of the re-post of the photo there R0B, not sure why I couldn't make it visible.
Ye so not much joy with that screw then? I've noticed that when fiddling with it, it can have an effect on the smoothness of start-up and idle, and when fiddling with it when the engine was running and hot it had the effect of reducing fuel or air. I havent been able to replicate each of these though so haven't been able to tie down which one it is. Make sense to anyone?
Can anyone identify what type of Webber carb it is?

Unless you have an exhaust gas analyler in place I wouldn't be going meddling with mixture screws if I were you.

Cheers Ian, thats kind of what i'm now thinking, but sadly the fiddling has already been done.
Is there a way to set this up without an emissions analyser? something as simple as number of loosing turns from fully closed? Do you think this could cause issues such as fuel starvation in the carb under acceleration? referring to this thread - https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... 4#p7617974" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - bearing in mind that I've tried everything on the above thread to fix problem to no avail.

I would be using a gas analyser... then you know it's right
your local mot man would be happy to let you play with your screws whilst he shoves the probe up your pipe
what carb is it??

Yep, your fuel lines need replacing asap as well as the carb and the extra fuel filter.

It's a pile of crap if it is a weber
Never was suited to a T25 as they are notoriously difficult to set up without a lot of faffing around
The pierburg carb is what VW fitted and gives the best economy and power.
