Electric Window Help

Hi all

First post (and I've tried search before posting ) and need some help removing the window mech.

I've got a 1990 T25 Dehler complete with electric windows stuck in the up position, I've also been told that the motors are not working.

So I have got two new motors and three new switches.

I have now stripped down the drivers door (LHD), but I am unable to remove the regulator and motor

There is a vertical rail arrowed in picture which I think needs be moved further forward, but because the window is fully up there is no room for movement.
If the 'lifter' part that was attached to window could be lowered the window could then be lifted to move it passed.

So is there anyway to move the mech, and if not any other ideas.

Dont know about removing the mechinisim, but
if you remove the bolts holding the motor to the door it is possible to move things around a bit and get a small spanner on the two bolts that hold the motor to the lifting mechinisim.

If you can get the motor off, and get a flat bladed screw driver in to the lifting mechinisim, you may be able to raise and lower the window,
You may even be lucky and find that the mechinisim is working and just replace the motor.

Just to say thank you Tony, managed to replace both motors today and everthing works.

The bolts at the back of the motor are awkward and took a bit of fiddling to get off.

Can now go out and enjoy the van again without cooking in the front seats.

I have to say, electric windows are one of the best T25 upgrades you can do. Mine are unusual but do the trick. Someone on ebay was selling some unused 1970s bolt-on beetle electric window units. They fit directly on to winder handle stub and were designed for beetles but the stub is common to both. Each has an adjustable clutch which you tighten up enough to send window up and down but once at full travel, the clutch slips stopping the motor from burning out.

Theres nothing worse than having to lean across to wind down passenger window when you're frying in there! Been a real joy ever since.
