Autosleeper electrolux fridge problem!

Tried to get the fridge in autosleeper trident going today, first time I have attempted to use it since I got the van. Tested the gas bottle and has Plenty of gas, I checked all the gas taps were open in cupboard under the sink. When I tried the switch expecting it to click and then ignite but nothing occurred! I checked the fuses in the panel hoping that one had blown but they all look fine. Before I start fretting is there anything else that I can check? Are there any more fuses that would stop the ignition working or anything else I can check. Would really appreciate any help.......

I recently had a T4 Autosleeper trident and for fridge ignition to flash the keys had to be in the ignition and switched on until red lights on dash showed (think from memory the 12 Volt switch on control panel has to be on too).

Might be worth a try.

I find that it is bit of a bugger to see if the gas has lit in the viewing window at the bottom of the fridge,do not need the ignition on in my van

My 1985 Auto-sleeper is fitted with a RM212,F fridge with electronic re-igniter. It works independent of the ignition switch. To light it you have to set the voltage selector to "O" i.e central position, turn on any gas taps including the cylinder, turn the knob of the gas control valve so the indicator mark is opposite setting No. 3, switch on the ignition switch, the neon light in the switch should start flashing indicating sparking is taking place, push the gas control knob in fully and hold it in. When the burner lights the neon in the switch will stop flashing and go out. Keep the gas knob in for a further 15 seconds for the thermocouple to heat up and then release. If the neon starts flashing again it indicates that the burner has gone out. After lighting the burner leave the ignition switch "on" I always check a burner on the cooker to make sure the gas is coming through before starting the fridge.

It "ticks" audibly as it tries to light the gas as well as flashing.
My flashing stopped a year ago but it ticks happily while I'm lighting it
As Sid says both the control panel switch AND the fridge igniter have to be ON

That was incredibly helpful to hear from an owner how it should work and sound and mine is definately not igniting, i am so s**t scared of mucking around with anything to do with the gas that i think i will have the fridge properly serviced as i am sure the guy i bought it from had not used it in a long while! There is probably a nest of bats in there getting high on butane. I had the knob pushed in for so long when i was trying ignite my neighbour came out and informed me he could smell gas in his lounge!

It is running fine on 240v and 12v so i only need it for going to shows really.

I think i'll leave this one to the expert but really appreciate the help

For servicing you'll have to remove the fridge.
Take the outside cover off first
then four screws inside the cabinet hold it in place.
pull it forward, there's plenty of wire and pipe to do this.
All the electrics are on top of the fridge


make sure that power is reaching the igniter, if it is then a new or used part must be obtained as it's non repairable
Also be sure that the sparking electrode at the burner is not to far away to make a spark or earthed in some way

Really appreciate your advice Kev i will have a look and see if i can dislodge anything from behind, im hoping coz it is working on elec then it should be the nozzle is just blocked, planning first week away in the autosleeper next week so wanted everything to work but i dont think ive ever had a van where everything works at the same time!
