Took a look in engine bay after many months of not using the van. Xtream red crystals around most pipe joints, clips, and around the water jacket gaskets. There's also a drop of coolant on the floor every day, a wee dram, as they say.
It needs to be said that the engine is tired and needs a rubber rebuild probably.
Is this likely to improve when engine warmed up and all the rubber ware heats up and expands? The van went through one cold winter and was not used.
Anyone had this?

Re: coolant crystals around joints
extreme cold will make the joints contract a lot so that they might weep.
with the warmer weather these joints have sealed again except the bigger gaps that need new gasketry

Shall I fill her up and start this baby up and hope the gasketry warms up, expands and makes love to the metals? No more gasketry leaks?
