Just check the continuity of each cable from end to end with a multimeter. (not when hooked-up obviously). It's easy to mix up a blue and brown when connecting each side of a plug and a socket. My van had the three pin socket cross wired by a previous owner that I only found because I wired in a consumer unit. Even if you fix it I'd still get a sparky to check it out to be safe. Also your insurance company might not be happy with a DIY 240v install?
2ltr Aircooled CU with twin Solex's & originally a 009 dizzie, but now back to standard.
