Post by dominicgg »

Hi all,

Just wondering where you have all gone to buy replacement curtains - and where the best place is please?

Thanks.

There's one or traders on the bay of fleas, it's where our's came from and they have been good. Cost about £75 I think.

HI Dom

I made mine, they are dead easy (well if you have a sewing machine) especially if you have the originals. You can use them as a pattern. If you can find a friend to borrow a machine from. You litterally cut out the fabric, run it round the outside with the machine and then sew the gathering tape across the top.

Otherwise http://www.vwcampercurtains.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; these people are helpful and specialise in campervan curtains. I was looking for some specific fabric and they were able to sourse me a roll and post it over to me. That was about 8 years ago now.

Good luck!

I've got a set here I'm going to sell. Brown one side, cream the other. Lined. They are a full set for a windowed van, in really good nick. Was thinking £55, pm if interested.
I got them from a lady who trades on ebay, called browns textiles. They do a standard set then charge a bit more to have colours to both sides, and more again for interlining. Really well made and if they don't have fabric you like listed it's worth asking. Very helpful. Last van they custom made a curtian with tape at top and bottom for my tailgate.

Thanks for the info everyone. Will check out the options. Don't think I'm really cut out for making them myself - it is probably something I will never get round to.

Alice, have sent you a PM.

Thanks.

OE? VW didn't make curtains

Taken from the brownstextiles ebay auction

IF YOU WISH TO SUPPLY YOUR OWN SIZES, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE YOUR SIZES FOR A FREE QUOTE

Surely it's not rocket science for them to make a set to the dimensions you give them for a westfailure :?:

Got ours from Browns. Really pleased with price and quality. Worth extra for black out lining too.

When you purchase curtains from Browns, they ask for the measurements of each curtain & will adjust the sizes to suit your van. I bought a full set for my previous camper (T25 Auto-Sleeper) & I was very pleased with them. :)
