Removing conversion studs from fronts

Post by vern4130 »

Anyone got any experience doing this?

I'm going back from alloys to steels and thought rather than faff around cutting the fronts down, I could just wind out the conversion studs that have been put in the front? This way I can go back to using the front bolts.

I'll obviously have to cut down the rears to avoid a serious job, but if I could wind out the fronts it would avoid forking out £15+p&p on 10 more wheel nuts too!

Any advice on this greatly appreciated, or someone with set of nuts  going cheap between devon and dorset!?

cheers!

Turns out, its very easy! Locked a pair of nuts on and they wound out no bother, didn't look like they'd been put in with threadlocker though.
