Wanted, better than average condition T4 Syncro camper

Post by syncrosimon »

A colleague is retiring soon, and has set his heart on a T4 Syncro Camper, pref a California, but anything well spec'd and in excellent condition considered. If you have any leads PM me, buyer based in Cornwall, but willing to travel, abroad if necessary.

Cheers

Simon.

There are some California Syncro T4's on Mobile.de at the moment. serious bits of kit, just wondering if there are any closer to home. Very serious buyer.

I enjoyed having a look at those, I have to say though I wouldnt do a straight swap for any one of them for my T3 Westy

They look tiny inside  I have had full cook ups and parties in mine with a number of adults (i was going to say grown ups but that wouldnt be technically true) I just cant see the same happening in one of those. Saying that I bet they are nice to drive and would love to have a go in one, so my doubts are abit unfounded really. I quite like the LWB ones with the shower in the back but dont know if they did a Syncro one.

I remember when my dad got his brand new Syncro T4 Trnscontinental camper, I was dying to have a go in it, drove it from Exeter to Wadebridge, back in 1998, and was soooooooo disappointed. just felt like a wollowy noisy creaky slug, even with a 102bhp 5 cyl diesel. It is really noisy now with 110,000 miles on.

They are not for me, but the customer has done 30 years for the service and is being kicked out by the chief, he wants a T4 or a T5.

all the t4 campers i`ve driven feel wallowy and heavy. the lighter vans drive far better i guess they could do with suspension improvements. t4 high roofs just dont look right to me unless they have the westy quif.

I have a T4 High Roof Westy sitting on my drive way at the moment. Its an early 2.4 diesel and I can concur what lee says about heavy and wallowy. They are nicely fitted out inside and it has all the stuff, nice to drive in a straight line but thats about it. Cross winds and bends, a T4 Westy does not do ....

I don't suppose by any chance the T4 you have is an auto Andrew? I know someone who wants a t4 camper but it must be an automatic.
