starter motor codes help.

Post by drumnut182 »

Ok heres the story..
Just bought brand new Bosch starter from CAMBERLEY AUTO FACTORS in Southampton. Put it in and it sounded awful and wouldnt start..like the sound of gears cruching! So, when i took it out the casing had shattered.. Im wondering weather they sold me the wrong one. The code on the new (but broken now!) starter is 0 986 013 350 BUT i have just become aware of the Brickwerks code table which states it should be 0 001 110 009 So, im a bit confused.
My question is: Have i bought the wrong starter or have they sold me the wrong starter because the code is different to what the table below states? OR is it the same starter but just with different codes?

a quick google shows that your chinese starter motor replaces bosch 001 110 009 so that's correct, chances are it's just a cheap piece of you know what
