did the front today, took a while because of flattening down the primer where stonechips had been taken off and treated. one question, has anyone built up little indented spots where stone chips have been with layers of rustoleum and high build primer instead of filler? they're not big dents but subtle enough to be seen with rustoleum.

xpress, a quick skim of filler would be much easier and quicker than trying to build up layers in small marks with paint.

All you guys/girls doing your vans just now are making me jealous. I think I need to get another van and do it again! Rollering was so much more enjoyable than mucking around with the interior like I'm doing now.

well I've got the welding done (front + rear arches and step), got my Rustoleum RAL 3020 and I'm now in the process of prepping my bus - happy days!!
just a quick question tho - has anyone used the orange rollers from B&Q? they come in a pack of 2, have a fine flock and are for gloss finish
are these the mohair ones?
I'll let you know how I get on as should be putting a coat on this weekend :ok
Before I've finished one job I'm planning the next!

Hi, I'm stuck on paint codes. I want to get as close to the original vw colours as possible - the medium blue H5G and pastel white 90D but I can't find the equivalent ral or bs codes for them anywhere on the net. I've looked at the rustoleum colour chart and can't quite nail the colours.

Anyone done this already and can let me have the codes?

Doesn't have to be 100% exact just close enough so I can get it ordered today.

Cheers.

Avenue coating will match vw colours, they my l90d at no extra cost as it was one they had previously matched.

Yes Avenue Coatings already have the formula for LH5G. I got 5 litres of Medium Blue from them 6 months ago.

my front wheel caps were a milky creamy white, does anyone have a suggestion for this colour? :) maybe a retro milky white?

also a suggestion for the wheel rims? i am thinking either also milky white, standard silver rims or black rims? also not sure whether to go satin (gloss) or matt.

No, doesn't need one but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt either.
