engine help please

Post by davidah »

Hi

This website is a fantastic resource, and I want to thank everyone for the information that I have used to keep my T25 running since I bought it almost 3 years ago. I usually use the WiKi or search on the forum, but now I have a problem that I can't find an answer to.

I need a new bottom pulley for my engine, but haven't been able to locate one anywhere. The engine is a 1.6 diesel, and according to the numbers on the diesel pump is a VW1.6 from a 1983-1992 Golf Mk2 or Jetta or caddy. The pulley has been damaged (before I had it) and is wobbling which is causing the belt to wear the cambelt cover. I have been around local breakyards, but with no luck

I have attached a photo of the engine, and then photos of the damaged pulley to see if anyone can identify the engine and knows where I can get a replacement pulley. This is the first time I have posted photos, so I hope it works OK.

I really need some help with this, as the alternative is another replacement engine!

Thanks for your help.

David on the recessed face around the bolt holes is the VW logo and the VW part number stamped into it - if you post the part number then I can tell you what engines that was fitted to and also whether you can get a new one still

part number probably starts 028 or 068

We have various pulleys here, but as Aidan says, give us the part number so we can see if we have any that we could send you.
