Rear suspension bushes

First off, I'm new to this, and not particularly technical so please bear with me. I'm replacing both of my rear trailing arms and have managed to get a reasonably good condition pair which i've had sandblasted and powder coated and they've come up a treat. I now can't get the bushes in . I took it to a local garage at the weekend who had a go with his press, he's got one in, but it doesn't look right and i'm pretty sure i'll need to replace it:

The outer edge of one side has torn off

The other side is concaved in and looks like it would cause the edge to shear off on that side as well

I've compared the bushes to the trailing arms and basically the bushes look too narrow

I know powder coating can add a reasonably thick layer to it, and the inside of the tube where the bush fits was not protected and has been coated too but could that be my problem?
Is there a problem with the bushes? They're Meyle bushes bought from VWHeritage and have the right part numbers engraved in them so they should be spot on.
Is there a problem with the trailing arms, are those tubes too wide?
Is it because I've not used the right tool to put them in? I'm not sure what the garage used with the press if anything, he said he had the press up to 20 tons trying to get the second one in and gave up for fear of damaging the arm.

Any help would be really appreciated.

We fitted some today, took about 10 mins per side. The tools needed are vw tools which help push them in properly. If there not put in with lude then they split like the one you show. The second one has been pushed in too far. i`d be getting your money back from the garage who tried fitting them and damaging them. Even try taking to VW dealer as they have the proper tools, or find some one on here that has the tools that would be willing to fit them.
