diesel leaking around injector !

hi all ,
i seem to have a bit of a problem with diesel leaking from around one injector,i have a 1.6td westy 1989 vege engine ,i was smelling diesel so i replaced the cloth braided rubber injector link pipe with some from brickwerks 3.2 mm x 7mm thought this might do the trick ,then we drove down to croyde at weekend when we got there i checked said pipe and yet again it was sodden with diesel ,so yet againchanged pipe this time thinking it might of been a dodgy bit of pipe so used some goodyear pipe i bought in france last year this is 4mm internal diameter drove home and still leaking around bottom of pipe !!
could it be leaking somewhere else on the injector do you think as i only seem to have an issue with the one (third one in from the back of the van)
any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Our camper leaked diesel around the same injector, it turned out the injector pipe had snapped right near the base, due to the amount of fuel lost, it also drove really badly. The leak could be seen really cleary when the engine was revved. This might not be of any help, but you never know. Good luck with sorting it.

thanks for the reply ,was the pipe that was broken the rubber cloth braided type which would loop to the next injector or are you talking about another pipe ?

Hi, It was the actual metal pipe, 3rd from the back.

It turned out the diesel pump was held in by only one bracket and the engine lid, when the engine lid wore down, the pump then vibrated, snapping the pipe.

My engine at some point has been replaced with a JR, so the pump sticks up a bit, but the same thoughts apply.

Have you tried revving it to see if you can see it leaking out?

oh ok,sounds like the feed pipe from the pump to the injector ,i havent had a close look at this pipe i will do .
when i rev the engine i can see it leaking around the bottom of the rubber braided pipe but its a new bit of pipe and it doesnt leak at the other end where it joins the next injector so i am assuming there is an isue with the injector ... the engine has only done about 15000 miles and all the pump ect is fairly new ,if it was just leaking down the bottom by where it meets the engine you could say it was the copper washer "fire guard" or something ,but as it is at the top around the pipe i dont know ,i was thinking of giving the union at the top of the injector a little turn to see if that will do it ? maybe that is where it is coming from ?
