My drivers door lock is a bit stiff when opening off the key so im thinking it probably only needs a bit oiling. I was wondering how you get the door cards off so i can get at the mechanics of it?
cheers

Re: Taking off the front door cards
I use WD-40 0r similar and squirt it in through the key hole using the red straw, only thing is once you start using a light oil like that in your locks you must remember to give it a squirt every couple of months, as the oil dries out quicker. If you want a longer term solution I would use wd-40 first, then follow on with some spray grease. I just go round the van squirting all moving parts with WD-40 though.

Re: Taking off the front door cards
The door lock is in the handle. Take the handle off, take the lock barrel out (keep your key in so the segments don't fall out) and check the hole in the handle that the barrel fits into. Chances are there are deep scores in the bore where the lock segments have rubbed down the years. This can cause the lock to feel stiff and eventually any key will open your door.

Re: Taking off the front door cards
The door cards have plastic leg around the outside of the card that push into gromets so take off handles, window winder etc. then with a flat blade screw driver slide under the card and lever by the plastic legs some times they can be very tight . Hope this helps
