is it turning over ?
does it smoke after a few seconds, ie unburnt fuel ? gets worse after a minute clouds of smoke

no smoke I guess means no fuel , in diesels I've come across with duff glow plugs the engine will eventually start as long as there's enough battery power to keep turning it over, but that's accompanied by clouds of smoke
btw I am no diesel expert but they seem to be in short supply on here and rarely post in technical for some reason
well worth cultivating your local diesel specialist, most towns have one

the real diesel expert live in the brickyard.......

have you drained the water trap / filter..... you should be able to see the fuel in the clear pipe from the filter to the pump....
