could be a brake servo hose air leak
Is the mixture OK?
might be time for a compression test

Cylinder No 3?

Yes, It's No 3. it was running fine for ages and the misfire started before I changed the ignition electrics and air filter. Changing all the various stuff didn't cure it as I'd hoped. If it was mixture would it just appear on one cylinder ?, wouldn't it effect all of them ?

it would appear first on any cylinder with lower compression than the others

other things to try...

timing correct?
plug gap OK?
crankcase ventilation hose secure?

does it misfire throughout the driving range?

Don't rule out having put a duff new plug in there!

I did just that, whats the chance, 4 new plugs and i put a duff 1 in number 3 where i had the missfire!
After spending more dosh on other items and finding lots of new words, i changed the plug again and bingo!
Shop gave me a full set of plugs to say sorry,,,he needed 2 for his ears! :rofl

ahh sounds like an induction leak. check gaskets(spray with wd40 when motor running and listen for note change) and vacc connections
