Decent Compression?

Post by Furgonzo »

Hello again,

Curious what sort of range I should be looking at for compression on a '89 1.7 diesel with about 2,000 km since a major overhaul. Upper 300's with a range no more than 70's (psi, 26ish bars?) sound reasonable to expect? What is the red zone (below which, DON'T BUY!).

Thanks.

Compression should be 34 bar, minimum 26 bar, max difference between cylinders 5 bar.
