How to fit chrome trim into window seals

Post by Stefvan »

I have bought some replacement chrome effect plastic trim for my California but I am struggling to get the arrow-profile trim back into the rubber seal. I have heard of people using a diamond lacing tool, is this necessary, and could anyone who has done this job please give me some how-to's or tips .. lubricant ? Mallet ? Hot water ? etc

cheers

I put the normal black rubber filler in mine using the diamond putter in thingy  OK its a tenner for something you will probably only use for half an hour during the rest of your life but its worth a tenner to save the grief(and the screwdriver stabbed fingers) I got mine from http://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/bbCMS/shop ... entId=4#29" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; scroll down to glazing tools.A dash of washing up liquid helped things too,but only a spot mind ya
