Hi All,
Well i finally did it after so many hours and hours and hours and hours..........yawn..............of rubbing down and prep work my bus was finally ready for paint . It just so happened that the people who rent the workshop next door had moved out leaving there workshop empty and the door open and what was in there..............a spray booth with a big extractor fan. Perfect !! it was meant to be, so we rolled the bus in there and got to work. What do you think?
Lovely colour! The putting back together is the best bit! We put our Bay back together when our daughter was two weeks old, I so remember her in the pram in the porch and our front garden looking like steptoes yard with all the bits everywhere for weeks. It was very satisfying in the finish though!
its Citroen safari beige in direct gloss . was a really nice paint to use with great coverage. im spraying the wheels, bumpers, syncro mirrors and door handles gloss black on the wkd. im so glad this stage is finally nearing an end . ive found the prep work very boring and lost my enthusiasm time and time again leaving it for weeks at a time untouched. ive decided to go for a brown interior with black or cream piping and a sort of basket weave camping area which i dreamt about and want to create for real , dont know how its going to come out though. i do a few things on the sewing machine but have never attempted anything on this scale. fingers crossed for me please
i know, the stars were aligned in my favour that wkd. what are the chances of there being a n unlocked spray booth empty next door. i only had to move the bus 40 ft.
