Propex HS1800 - fault

Post by nesty »

I have a Propex HS1800. I put it on it whirs for 30 seconds then shuts off. The gas valve don't kick in.

Blinks 5 times.

Instructions say either
Blocked / partially blocked exhaust / combustion air inlet
Water trapped in exhaust pipe
Damaged / crushed exhaust
Fan motor running slow

Most probably got some crap the pipe; though it has been idle for 6 months. I think I had this last May & Gassure sorted this out as part of my LPG conversion.

Any advice on clearing the pipe out? Can I use a long pipe cleaner to try and unblock it? Or is there a more appropiate method. just don't want to make it worse!

The propex is a old version.

It was repaired by gassure to get working again, though I think it's the same problem!

airline and a bit of cloth to seal it and blow it through, but I'd email Propex direct and ask their tech guys first, I know this is ok on a 2000 with the aux passive optical fan (Propex tech guys advice) but can't be sure about your 1800

I got the problem sorted. Propex gave me a work around about putting the airline up the inlet pipe. However didn't need too. Just started it a few times today and it just kicked in!

Ran it for 10/15 mins and re-started it and all ok! Heat again!

The advice is to run them regularly to keep them free, worth starting them every month even in summer, actually with a 2000 especially in the summer
