Have been running the van fine for the last week or so. Not had any leaks since got the van. Today went out after the van sitting for 2 days and it appears to have dropped the whole contents of the oil out onto the road...no warning leaks just a straight evacuation of all the oil! Cannot see where it comes from at all but dripping out the bottom of the engine! Just when got the van all ready for the season...so disheartening! Anyone with any ideas before I get it towed away to the garage...has anyone else had this happen before?
Thanks.......
Always knew the van was gonna be a heartache!

Re: Oil Leak
Could really do with knowing which engine you have. But if its dropped as much oil as you say then it got to be from the bottom end ie the sump...Could be something like the oil filter leaking or even the crankseals, but I wouldn't expect them to just start leaking overnight with out the engine running..
Or maybe something simple like the sump plug seal..

Mmm what's that strange smell from my exhaust...

Re: Oil Leak
It's a 2.0l Aircooled engine, really can't see exactly where from, top all dry, leak seems to middle area but could be just run/drip point really difficult to see where from at the moment.

Re: Oil Leak
Could be a number of places really - sump plug, oil strainer, cracked case or leaking where the case half join. When you say the whole lot are you talking litre's?
Would be worth cleaning everything, pour some oil in and see if you can see where it's coming from. Take some pictures so we can help.

Re: Oil Leak
Found the leak!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's leaking from the old fuel pump that is still in situ even though bypassed to a new electric fuel pump! now need to get the old one off somehow and blank it off properly! See why not taken off originally as screws to get to are a bugger to get to!...............Relieved nothing more serious!
