Hi all
I have a 1980 with original Electrolux fridge that i just can not get to work. With fridge switched on the back gets hot which i assume is the heat exchanger but the fridge itself does not get cold. At the bottom left is a switch and a button I have assumed to be a gas ignition next to a ignition light viewer slide. The top of the switch is not conneted anymore so move the switch by finger and thumb but can not what ever I do get the gas to ignite and work this way.
Any ideas as it seems inevitable that I will have to buy a new three way fridge.
Thanks all.
Fridge doesn't work

Re: Fridge doesn't work
An old trick with absorption fridges is turning them upside down for a long night.
seems to work more times than not
Ensure that gas is available from the bottle and turn on any taps in the supply line to the refrigerator.
2 Open the refrigerator door to give easier access to the gas controls.
3. Turn the gas control knob to the maximum position (No. 3) then press in this knob for about 5 to 10
seconds to clear air from the pipeline. (When starting initially, or after changing a gas bottle. it may be
necessary to press in the knob for a longer period to clear all the air from the pipes).
4. Still pressing in the knob push in the button which operates the Piezo ignites, several times in
quick succession until the burner lights. Continue to press in the gas control knob for a further 15
seconds to allow time for the thermocouple tip (over the burner) to heat up.
5. Release the gas control knob then check that the burner is alight by looking in the flame control tube. If
the burner has not lit, repeat the lighting procedure.
do you have a manual?..if not you can download it from the clubs download section
