I think it goes to your high pressure oil switch (0.9bar) just next to the oil pump, under the water pump
unless it's already connected

I think you are on the right lines....with that rubber shroud and terminal it certainly looks like a sensor wire of some description.

The radiator blew last summer due to the fan belt snapping and causing an air blockage so the system was emptied and refilled twice as the mechanic did not think to put antifreeze in the first time!

Re: Mystery Wire??? (Picture)
if you can't see a sensor like the one that's between the push rod tubes then leave it off.
But it's there, just look harder... right next to the oil pump which has a cover on it with four hex head bolts
Get a haynes then!
Buzzer Of Doom......an audible warning of imminent engine death.

see it now?... little black thing to the left of the oil pump (plate with 4 bolts)

Re: Mystery Wire??? (Picture)
av a look at this -
if it is the oil high pressure switch -
the high pressure switch lives in a little hideaway next to the oil pump -
facing down - looking at the front of the engine -
you can just see the blade on top of the switch sticking out on the photo -

this is the switch itself - screws in -

hope this helps -
