rear door lock

Post by GAML »

Hello Everybody,
I've got my lovely bus back - 2.1dj auto. However the central locking has been playing up and now the rear door won't open.
Tried it with the key in the lock or using the central locking - no joy :(

Any ideas

Thanks

Graham

if it won't open on the key then you'll have to remove partly the door card on the inside and get your hand in there and release it from there then open the door, fully remove the door card and then check the electric side and if that doesn't fix it then stripout and sort the lock - the central locking motor is stuck in locked position by the sounds of it and the circuit is open, will need the motor stripping and cleaning and reassembling probably

The rear lock is quite complex. The actuator slides a bar which moves an assembly that engages with the lock mechanism. Depending on the position of the key lock (horizontal or vertical) the boot will be permanently locked or only open when central locking is open. Per previous post you really need to get the door card off and have a look. The rod can become disengaged or bent, causing fault/s.
