What do you do. brushable seam sealer befote or after primer/paint?
Did they weld, seam seal, then paint at the factory or paint after welding then seam seal on top?

If you've done a really thorough job of rust treating and preparing the metal, then I see no problem with doing it one way or the other...
Judging from the "poking with a screwdriver" that I've done under my wheel arches and looking at seams that I've taken apart, I reckon they put it straight onto the bare metal in the factory. The mating surfaces of seams have no paint on them from the factory.
Although in an ideal world I think I would treat the metal with Phosphoric acid, then wash it with water and dry thoroughly, then epoxy primer, then seam sealer.

Re: brushable seam sealer befote or after primer/paint?
thanks very much. you guys are ace. yes, i would agree with you. i am pretty sure they went around sealing up all the seams and lap joints, various welded areas, then painted. you can see the brushable seam sealer on the lap joints around the early van, not sure about the late ones, can't attest to those.
i am not liking sikaflex when trying to mop disc it off a panel. it goes gummy and spreads, sanding it by hand is better, but would a heat gun and a paint scraper be better?
i am just going to put a post up asking how to revitalise a mop disc after it's gummed up with seam sealer :S
