Passenger window stuck down! 1981 t25 westfalia

Post by Joninlondon »

Hi there, just bought my t25 yesterday. Just got to work and the passenger window won't wind up, the handle just free spins and clicks... But it still can pull the window down further. I've tried pushing up the glass and moving the winder but it seems jammed! Just worried someone is going to steal it it's on the street. Any tips? Cheers Jon

It could just be the winder is worn and needs replaced, or the whole mechanism is goosed, either way you are going to have to strip down to find out, not a big job.

Alright, this has got me. I have the same problem as the OP - winder spins and clicks. I have started pulling the winder away from the door card, and can see the splined winder mechanism behind, but cannot see how to detach the two. Surely not just brute force?

Armed with that confidence I have now uncovered said screw and fixed it. My thanks - take two sweets out of the bag next time round.
