van wont fire up

just tried to start me 1.6 diesel van after a year off the road its got brand new battery turning over really well wont fire up tried easy start in air filter, was running really well before took it off the road any ideas anyone

Glow plugs .... but im sure someone with better knowledge of Diesels will be along shortly

check the fuseable link and the relay in the black electricals box in the engine bay.

Try bleeding the fuel system too, especially as it has stood for so long..

would that b done by turning the knob at bottom of fuel filter ?

nope, that would be to empty the filter of water..... woorth doing anyway, on a regualr basis.
I thought they were self bleeding, but i may be wrong, i dont "do" diesels......
