Fuel Tank Connections

Post by bmouthboyo »

Hi Guys,

I am a little stumped. I dropped my fuel tank a few weeks back to fit new water pipes, when I dropped it all the connections etc popped off and I did the work.

Now refitting the tank I am a little stumped as to the little pipes.

The tank has 3 holes with grommets, 2 small thin metal pipes and the large filler neck hole.

Yet on the expansion tanks on either side under the wheel arches there are 2 nipples and one pipe that seems to go behind it.

So basically I am not sure where the 6 tubes from the expansion tanks in total go as there is only 4 connections on the tank?

Sorry if I didn't really explain myself lol

Cheers

OK so after a little more searching I found this diagram on the wiki:

So am I right in thinking the pipe that goes behind the header tanks is not meant to connect to anything? and is number 19 in the diagram?

Also as the pipes are a bit gammy can I replace them all with 5.5mm rubber hose?

Thanks

Can I just use 5.5mm hose to go straight from the connections to the breather tanks?
