Help...Need a new choke / spring

Post by holdenadam »

Just took my carb off, 1.9 petrol 1986 Pierburg. Looked at the choke unit and on the inside the small spring has come away from the electrical connection .
Does anyone have one or know where i can get one
Thanks

The choke unit is held on by 3 screws, insdide this there is the bi metal spring and behind this there is another smaller spring which connects to the wire which exists the choke housing.

Looks more like the choke from the photo, not the diagram.

so it won't push back on just broke.

well this carb was fitted to a lot of cars Vauxhall (corsa, cavaliers astra mk2) VW (golf mk2 jetta polo) etc and the part is identical
you could try a breaker or try Gower and Lee http://www.gowerlee.dircon.co.uk/spares.html#pierburg
I don't see it listed but you could call them and ask

some breakers on here may help, Billy 739 for one

hope this helps
