Driver's side mirror

Post by morzov »

Busted my driver's mirror glass with a bit of over enthusiastic reversing into the drive!

I've got a spare passenger side mirror and wondered if its easy to swap the glass from one to the other as I've got an MOT coming up in a couple of days and I think cracked glass is a fail.

Thanks in advance

They can be cut open etc but not reccomended, you can fit the near side one to the drivers side but it will be horizontal rather than vertical, some folk run them that way for the looks! either way it sorts you out till you get a replacement

Thanks - that should get me past the MOT

Yes - I did order a buy it now from GSF via Ebay (about £10 I think) but there was no apparent means to pay for it. Emailed them a few days ago but they didn't bother to answer!

Yes I have got an ebay account but clicking on the pay button doesn't allow you to pay - maybe because I'm not on Paypal.I'll give them a ring today and see if I can sort out. Thanks for offer but I'm going to put the nearside one on to get me through MOT.

Go for the BQ (better quality) mirrors on the actual GSF website (www.gsfcarparts.com choose shop, then watercooled then T25) or get them from Brickwerks. Under no circumstances be a tight wad and go for the useless cheap £8 (ish) GSF version as they are crap and the glass will rattle in them in no time IF they ever stay put.

Brickwerks sell convex verison which let you see more of whats behind you
