If you want a view of the sea and a short walk to the 'Harbour Inn' then you can choose no better than the Harbour campsite at Southwold, Suffolk.
Good level site, hook ups etc. and a short stroll from the enchanting town. Adnams beer, sea food and a pier what more could you want for a first trip.
The 'Strangers Home' pub near Manningtree on the Essex coast has a small campsite at the rear with hook ups, toilets etc and the food is very good.
Its in the area that Matthew Hopkins the 'Witchfider General' first started his eradication of those involved in the black arts and the whole place has an errie
and strange feel to it. Good walks and country park nearby.
If you want to add on an extra half hour then a trip over the causeway (the Strood) on to Mersea Island, Essex is well worth it and gives you a choice of campsites and sea food destiations
like the 'Company Shed' but get there early!
Hope you have a great and exciting first trip...
