C & D Refinishers

Post by bodsbus »

Does anyone know if C&D Refinishers in Willenhall are still in business? They are still listed in Yellow Pages but the number comes up unobtainable. Need some paint on my Westy and they did a decent job on my Autohomes a while back.

Went from this:

Cheers

yes you do
But I already told you that on Brickyard

Why not do what I did when I found C&D (before I recommended them to the world )
I searched the local yellow pages for a contract sprayer of commercial vehicles.
Two came up and I chose Colins Company after a visit and a look at his work..

He did such a great job for the prices.... I told folks here on 80-90 and the word spread from there.

Thanks Choplee, colour is VW slate blue. Sadly I don't have that nice van anymore but the plan is to get the Westy up to spec, can't face a colour change this time though so it will stay white

Kev... Interested in your experience with paintwork... Did you post about it? Wouldn't mind a read.

(Mine's mostly ok, but there's a few things I'm seeing that suggest I might need to get some pre-emotive work done, before the van sets about eating itself).

I did post actually but it was five years ago now and long gone I would think.

All I can say is I found the right fellas at the right price round the corner from me.
They were contract sprayers and didn't take private vehicles, I asked if they would prep and spray my van.
They agreed, I got them the paint codes for three colours and showed them a picture of how I wanted it to look (photoshop).
He laughed his head off and said it would look sh*t.
well it was sprayed and it did
So I did another version and he resprayed it in places again (no charge)... er..then again after I moaned

cost me £850 back then, I was well chuffed, he was so cheap after three years I went back and had a bottom half done (below the swage) for £200.
I wanted to carry on doing this for years .... but colins gone and my plans are in tatters...

Cheers sir. Was it mainly about getting your preferred colour, or did you get shotblasting and stuff done?

(I took a dangerous look at new panels yesterday. Didn't seem too crazy until I made a guess at labour and paint. Doof.)

The resprays was my design fault.. It looked great on paper but not in the flesh.
The main colour was mixed untill I liked it. Big mistake as it's hard to match. The nrxt respray will see the return of the original colour.

The only thing I had blasted were the alloys.
I wanted them the same white as the van.
And they were painted at the same time as the van.
