Simon you should probably E D I T your post to Iltis are for gayers, Syncro's are for men!
Heh.
Thing is (excuses coming) syncro don't have a bonnet, so you can see where your going, the Iltis, soon as you get the nose up all you can see is sky and trees.
The syncro makes it easy, you can see where your going and your spoilt with both diff locks, thus hiding a lack of driving talent.
So, my comment stands, Syncro are for gayers as they just work and do everything they are meant to do, the Iltis however needs skill and attention when driving it, something I will readily admit I'm lacking in!
Yeah, the doors are gash. Ace with the roof down and the doors off, even when Its freezing.
Real motoring for real men, no limp wristed high tops and heaters...
Personally I like the Holes in the rear arches that squirt mud over the rear seat occupants when you got through Water.
yep probably be better taking the doors off when off road or sorting out the catches. Very brave words coming into the summer si all a bit bear grylls talk there, we know the sort hard as in an iltis with no top then off to a hotel that night to get a pedicure complaining you've broken a nail yeah yeah. So you coming to Coney so we can see the gay wagon in the flesh ???

Just trying to build my confidence in it, Its not been used since 1996. We've had some " teething troubles " and Its flat out at 50mph! Coney, probably not but considering coast to coast.
I didn't buy it for it to be amazing off road, just thought it was a cool, interesting vehicle. I'm sure you know that Audi designed and built them and that the Audi quattro is iltis based?
