Here is what i have been up to today:
not too bad for 26 years. Drilled it with a wire brush and added hammerite (old skool I know but it was in the cellar) and waxoyl (same).
how long do you think before i really have to sort it?

Ok about as bad as it gets before the sill is knackered...... But then again i havent got in to see his inner sill yet

My inner sill was toast. You can still get them new from vw classic in germany. Cheaper than heritage

This is a very common area for the rust mites to get tucked into - yours actually doesn't look to bad - best to sort it whilst you can get to it OK. Mine looked like this
I had to weld in some new metal.
