ignition switch flicks off !!

Help......when I turn the key the switch doesn't stay on, I have to hold it in the on position.....a little dangerous.
Do I need to replace the ignition barrel, the switch at the bottom of the barrel OR everythng ?????
Any info will be of help, thanks

probably just the plastic switch with the contacts in, the spring should only bring it back from start to run, they have quite a hard life but they're not to expensive and relatively easy to swap
