oil coming back up the filler tube

Post by chuckle-bus-tom »

2.1 MV digifant petrol in a 1991 syncro doka.

I am still a bit flummoxed by the complexity of the 2.1 over my 1.9DG (in the camper). I'm having a messy oil loss problem, which I have pinpointed to the filler tube, which is spluttering oil back out when I'm driving. It's not in quantities that is causing a worrying loss in the engine, but it's enough to leave a very noticeable mark on the road when parked and to smell it burning off the exhaust while at lights etc. Is this a vacume or pressure problem perhaps?

Thanks in advance!

Tom

Ah, I was bemused by the straightness of it! Sure enough, it was limp and sticky. New one duly ordered from Brickwerks.
