Correct oil filter ?

Post by getunder »

Euro Car Parts have just supplied me with a replacement oil filter for my 1985 van. Bosch 0 451 103 084.
Euro Part No.501440010
It is shorter and fatter ( 10cm x 9.5cm.) than the filter still on the van. Possibly the same volume . Are they interchangeable ?

dont have the parts numbers to hand, but i bet they have sent you a filter for a CU engine... 2lt aircold.
Common happening at GSF if you get the teaboi instead of the organ grinder!!

Some one will know the part nos before long........

Have googled Euro and their parts search starts in 1990. I agree with you about GSF as I have known incorrect parts put into correctly labelled bag.

Have just looked up Just Campers and they list Bosch 0 451 103 084 as being for Petrol 1979- 1988 2L
They have a picture of it with these numbers on and it looks the squat shape not the long one. QED I think ?
Thanks for the replies. Problem sometimes is that someone may have replaced items with incorrect ones which may still work anyway. A longer one is listed as being for a CT engine.

Checked Just Campers again and the longer one is specified for 1600CT Aircooled and 1900 and 2100 watercooled. So looks as if both of these long and short filters will fit.
