Fiamma awning query - pls advise

Post by fairwynds »

Hi
I'd like to buy a Fiamma awning (F45ti in 'polar white'?) but have a couple of questions:

1) best place to buy? (am currently looking at World of Camping)

2) there are two lengths available (well, 'widths' - as measured across the side of van) 256cm and 306cm
(2.5m and 3.0m) ..... has anyone got the 3.0m one fitted, and does it fit ok?

3) Does the awning come with the fixing kit for the gutters?

Hope you can advise,
thanks

1) No idea. I got my Zip250 2nd hand from the brickyard for £150. Like new

2) Got a 2.5m one fitted. 3m have been fitted and just about fit iirc

3) No. Gutter brackets need to be bought seperately if purchased new iirc.

£110. Any good ? viewtopic.php?f=17&t=81932&p=7597039&hilit=pull+out+awning#p7597039

I had a 2.8 caravanstore on my hightop, took up the whole length. I would say 2.5m would be ideal

Got a 2.5m F35 Pro - you could go longer but personally I think the 2.5 m is sufficient.

2.5 looks best when not in use but the 3.0metre does offer the sliding door with that extra bit of overhang to prevent rain coming in.

The brackets are extra....about £57.00 (piggin expensive) as for where to go....whoever is cheapest on the combined deal to the door.

Here is my 2.5 metre 45Ti

Nope I don't have any leg brackets fitted to the van, I wouldn't want to deface the bodywork (drill holes in perfectly good panels)

Jed the spread has this type on his syncro, give him a pm I'm sure he'll be happy to answer this question.

I'm with Red Westie on body brackets. I've seen what sudden night time high winds can do to an awning that's pegged down with hefty tie down straps. Wouldn't like to see what it would have done to the bodywork had it been bolted to it.

And as we are showing off our awnings here's our Zip250........................

...ordered the 2.5m F45ti and fitting kit - from World of Camping. Very prompt, polite service. They will let me know later today re potential club discounts for all, re their different ranges of products (sadly not the Fiamma stuff as they reckon they are pretty competitive as it stands...)
Will keep you posted..
