Hi,
Does anyone else have experience of the sliding door popping open whilst driving? This seems to happen to me pretty often, on bumpy roads especially. Even when the lock catch is on, it seems to get jolted into its slide path at the rear end and once there, doesn't take too long to come dislodged at the handle end. Pulling away or going up a hill then usually causes it to slide all the way open, which is quite unnerving.
I had a respray not long after I bought it. Perhaps the door was not re-hung correctly? What's the process of fixing this?
Cheers,
MAtt

Internal solution
Get a piece of string tied around the inside sliding door handle and tie it tightly to the passenger seat head rest

I think that I am getting this problem too. I get most of the advice on the link except the last bit with the red arrows. Which edges of the mechanisim should be reshaped and to what shape? Cheers

the parts indicated with the red arrows are the actual catches, these wear and are no longer shaped like hooks , the edges wear smooth and round, so they no longer hook over and hold the latch, imagine your finger closest to your thumb is the catch, make a hook shape, and hook it over a pencil and try pulling the pencil away, your bent finger easily holds onto the pencil, now straighten your finger out as if worn, now the pencil can be pulled out easily ( does that make sense? )
I did this mod around a year ago and the door is still perfect, if its still not clear let me know and I will talk you through it .
